His scholarly interests also encompass the history of analytic philosophy, pragmatism, and philosophy of language. He has authored key works including Donald Davidson (Routledge/McGill-Queen's, 2004), which examines Davidson's contributions to action theory, events, radical interpretation, and philosophy of mind; Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Ludwig Wittgenstein (editor and translator, Broadview, 2014); and Logical Theory (2017). Additional publications feature essays such as 'Language, the World and Spontaneity in Wittgenstein’s Tractatus' (2008), 'Mathematics, Mind, and Necessity in Wittgenstein's Later Philosophy' (1998), and contributions to volumes on Donald Davidson, including 'Introduction: Davidson's philosophical project' (2009) and 'Radical interpretation' (2009). Joseph has received National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Fellowships for projects on Philosophical Responses to Empiricism in Kant, Hegel, and Sellars; Aristotle’s Philosophy of Language; and an NEH Core Curriculum Fellowship. He teaches courses including Philosophy of Religion, Early Modern Philosophy, and Introduction to Philosophy.
