Mesut Cicek is an Associate Professor (Career Track) in the Department of Marketing and International Business at Washington State University’s Carson College of Business. He teaches IBUS 582 in the online MBA program. Prior to entering academia, Cicek worked as a marketing manager. He earned his doctorate from Istanbul Bilgi University. His research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Product and Brand Management, Journal of Macromarketing, and the International Journal of Technology Marketing. Recent work by Cicek examines consumer responses to the inclusion of artificial intelligence terminology in product and service descriptions as well as the accuracy and consistency of generative AI tools when evaluating hypotheses from scientific papers. In 2024, he received recognition from the Carson College of Business for his contributions as an engaging and caring professor.
