Dr Min Pham is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education within the College of Education, Behavioural and Social Sciences at Adelaide University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Adelaide and is a Senior Fellow of Advance Higher Education (SFHEA, 2024). With a career spanning higher education institutions in Vietnam, the United States, Singapore, and Australia, Dr Pham coordinates and teaches courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programs and supervises honours and PhD students in English language and English medium education. As a teaching-focused academic, he is dedicated to advancing education equity, social justice, and student excellence.
Dr Pham's research focuses on English as an additional language or dialect (EALD), English medium education (EME), and content and language integrated learning (CLIL), particularly in Southeast Asian higher education contexts. He co-edited the book English Medium Instruction Practices in Vietnamese Universities: Institutional, Practitioner and Student Perspectives (Springer Nature, 2022) and contributed chapters including 'Road-mapping English-medium instruction in Vietnamese Universities: the divergence of agency' and 'Lecturers' perspectives on the use of L1 in Vietnamese undergraduate English-Medium courses.' Notable recent publications are 'University student learning strategies in English medium instruction: an exploratory study in Indonesia and Vietnam' (Asia Pacific Journal of Education, 2025), 'Student preferences and practices regarding first language use in English medium education: a scoping review across Southeast Asian universities' (Higher Education, 2025), and 'Internationalisation and English medium education in Vietnamese universities: professional role transformation among English language lecturers' (Research in Comparative and International Education, 2023). He has led grants such as 'Enhancing university English medium instruction through professional development: A cross-country study in Southeast Asia' (UniSA Education Futures) and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Global Vietnam since 2023. His teaching excellence is evidenced by awards including the Australian Award for University Teaching (2024), UniSA Teacher of the Year nominations (2024, 2025), UniSA Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning (2022), and Staff Excellence Award (2022).
