About Nouar

Professor Nouar Tabet serves as Professor in the Physics Department at the University of Sharjah. He also holds the positions of Dean of the College of Sciences and Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Tabet earned a Doctorat ès Sciences in Materials Science from the University of Orsay (Paris-Sud), France, in 1988, as well as a Doctorat 3ème Cycle in Materials Science and a Diplôme des Etudes Approfondies in Materials Science from the same university. His research specializations include solar cells, with emphasis on perovskite and silicon cells, nanomaterials, defects, oxides, and photoelectron spectroscopy. Tabet maintains an active publication record, with works such as studies on ZnO nanostructures prepared by microwave methods in 2013, the role of organic cations in hybrid halide perovskite CH3NH3PbI3 in 2015, and copper oxide as an inorganic hole transport material for lead halide perovskite solar cells in 2015. He has received over 7400 citations for his contributions to the field. Prior to his current roles, Tabet served as rector of the University of Constantine in Algeria and held academic positions at other institutions, including KFUPM. In 2004, he was awarded the Al-Marai Prize for Innovation in Physics. Tabet has contributed to advancements in materials characterization, thin films, and renewable energy technologies through his research and administrative leadership at the University of Sharjah.

His career encompasses extensive supervision of graduate students and involvement in scientific research initiatives focused on emerging solar cell technologies and nanostructured materials. Tabet continues to influence the academic community through his roles in college administration and university governance.
