Pamela Baj is a Professor - Nursing Administration in Health Science at San Francisco State University School of Nursing, College of Health and Social Sciences. She joined the faculty in 1990. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of California, San Francisco, a B.S. from Boston University, and RN licensure from the University of Pennsylvania. Pamela Baj holds the distinction of Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). Her research focuses on administrative issues related to nursing practice and education. Teaching interests include entrepreneurial leadership (quantitative).
Pamela Baj has made notable contributions through key publications such as the edited volume Review of Research in Nursing Education: Volume IV (1991, with Gloria M. Claycomb), 'Perioperative Nursing Challenges for the Russian Émigré Nurse' (1997, AORN Journal), 'A Collaborative Work Study Program Between Nursing Service and Education' (1994, Nurse Educator), 'Taking a Sabbatical? Consider Doing Research' (1987, Nurse Educator), and 'Evaluation of a programme to train Russian émigré nurses' (1997, International Journal of Nursing Practice). She has also addressed topics like directors of continuing nursing education needs and integration of internationally educated nurses. In public service, Pamela Baj co-established the Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund in 2001 with Dr. Richard Glogau at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals to support pediatric patients and families with toys, hotel vouchers, and amenities, inspired by care received by their son born in 1989 with severe orthopedic problems. She shares experiences with affected parents. Additionally, she is associated with the Western Academy of Nurses.
