Mr. Peter Rossini is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting and Finance, College of Business and Law at Adelaide University. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Valuation) from the South Australian Institute of Technology (now University of South Australia) and a Graduate Diploma in Economic Statistics from the University of New England. Rossini has built a distinguished career in property and real estate education and research over more than four decades. Previously at the University of South Australia since 1983, he has contributed significantly to property programs. His teaching emphasizes undergraduate courses including Statutory Valuations and Discovering Opportunities in Property in the Bachelor of Business (Property) program, with strengths in online learning and student engagement.
Peter Rossini's research specializations include housing markets and property implications, residential property indexing and market performance, automated valuation methods, mass appraisal, urban renewal evaluation, and water markets. Recent research examines inter-generational wealth flows and their effects on housing affordability for the aged and first home buyers. Key publications feature "Locked-out: generational inequalities of housing tenure and housing type" (Property Management, 2022, with Lowies, Squires, McGreal), "Composition and context drivers of residential property location value as a socioeconomic status measure" (Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science, 2020, with Coffee, Lockwood, Niyonsenga, McGreal), "The reverse mortgage conundrum: perspectives of older households in Australia" (Habitat International, 2019, with Whait, Lowies, McGreal, Dimovski), "Does where you live influence your socio-economic status?" (Land Use Policy, 2018, with Lockwood, Coffee, Niyonsenga, McGreal), and "Measuring the influence of space and time effects on time on the market" (Urban Studies, 2016, with McGreal, de la Paz, Kupke, Kershaw). He maintains a prodigious record of refereed journal articles and international conference presentations. Awards include the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES) Achievement Award (2007, 2019), PRPRJ Best Paper Award (2013), PRRES Best Refereed Paper Awards, Outstanding Paper Award from Property Management Journal (2012), and UniSA Business School Staff Excellence Awards (2012, 2013). Rossini has developed commercial software for the Australian real estate industry and delivered seminars to international organizations, underscoring his influence in the field.
