Dr. Quyen Bui Thi Thuc serves as a lecturer in the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Vietnam. She earned her Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from Curtin University and holds a Doctor of Philosophy, focusing on English language studies. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in English language education, previously heading the TESOL Department and currently leading the Division of General English. Her research specializations encompass teaching English as a foreign language (EFL), learner autonomy, collaborative writing practices, the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in listening and speaking instruction, communication strategies employed by EFL learners, and factors influencing academic burnout among language students. She employs theoretical frameworks such as Activity Theory and Cultural Historical Activity Theory to investigate classroom dynamics, teacher roles, peer interactions, and student engagement in online and hybrid learning environments.
