Rachael Zeuner is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Adelaide University, serving in the School of Civil Engineering and Construction within the College of Engineering and Information Technology. She delivers instruction in essential undergraduate courses, including Reinforced Concrete Design (CIVE 3003) in 2024, Engineering Capstone Experience A (ENGG 4007) in 2024, and Engineering Capstone Experience B (ENGG 4008) in 2024. These courses emphasize structural design principles, reinforced concrete elements such as beams and columns, and capstone projects that integrate work-integrated learning to prepare students for professional engineering challenges.
Zeuner earned her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Adelaide between 1996 and 1999. Her extensive career spans academia and industry, including prior roles as Course Coordinator for Capstone Experience at University of South Australia from 2022, Lecturer at University of South Australia from 2019 to 2023, Tutor at University of Adelaide from 2019 to 2023, Senior Structural Engineer at Aurecon in 2018, National Technical Engineer at Fielders from 2003 to 2011, Structural Engineer at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in 2003, and Structural Engineer at Wallbridge & Gilbert from 1999 to 2003. She founded Rachael Zeuner Consulting Engineers in 2011 and established Interpolate as Director and Founder in 2017 to support young engineers transitioning from university to practice. Holding Fellow status with the Institution of Engineers Australia (FIEAust), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation, and National Engineering Register (NER) listing, Zeuner has contributed as Principal Investigator on Australian Research Council Linkage Project LP0991701 in civil engineering. She co-authored the 2024 publication 'City of Adelaide clipper ship: Bringing her home' and is associated with patent AU2008101288A4 for an improved Z section structural member. Additionally, she judged the Australian Steel Institute Steel Excellence Awards for South Australia in 2020 and presented at the Australasian Engineering Heritage Conference.
