Dr. Shadi Shayan is a Lecturer in Construction and Project Management in the School of Management within the College of Business and Law at Adelaide University. With more than 13 years of industry experience delivering global projects, she brings a practice-informed approach to her teaching. Shadi holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of South Australia, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. She has been a Lecturer since 2019, previously at the University of South Australia. Her teaching spans key areas such as project planning and control, risk management, procurement and contracts, stakeholder engagement, and project governance. She emphasizes authentic learning, industry relevance, and the development of students’ applied capabilities and professional judgment.
Shadi’s research centers on integrated project risk management and broader project management topics that influence project delivery and organizational outcomes. She explores how projects navigate uncertainty, complexity, and stakeholder demands, aiming to strengthen project practices and decision-making for improved performance and practical insights into effective project delivery and capability development.
