Dr. Shadi Yacoub Al-Shidrawi serves as Assistant Professor of English at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah. He holds a Ph.D. in English Literature, awarded Summa Cum Laude. In addition to his teaching role, Dr. Al-Shidrawi is Lead of the AURAK Language Center, Writing Center Coordinator, and Chairperson of the Teaching and Learning Committee.
His research focuses on English literature, with particular attention to post-truth themes in twentieth-century works. Notable contributions include the 2024 study examining the presence of modern post-truth concepts in five classic novels, such as Lewis’s It Can’t Happen Here (1935) and Warren’s All the King’s Men (1946). He has also co-authored work on hybrid writing centers in the UAE, including the 2026 article “Rethinking Writing Support: Student Satisfaction and Writing Development in a Hybrid Writing Center,” which analyzes student engagement and skill development using quantitative survey methods. Dr. Al-Shidrawi maintains an active scholarly profile through platforms such as ORCID and ResearchGate, and he participates in academic workshops and professional development initiatives related to faculty coaching and student success.
