Stephen Agnew is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Canterbury Business School. His main research interest is economics and financial literacy education, specifically the effect of socioeconomic standing on the provision of economics education.
Agnew holds a PhD and has been affiliated with the University of Canterbury for many years. He has authored or co-authored research outputs on topics including financial literacy, cognitive abilities and gender gaps, the influence of consumer socialisation in the home on financial literacy, and the relationship between high school economics study and success in introductory university microeconomics courses.
