A true inspiration to all learners.
Dr. T. Kavaskar serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, a position he has held since October 2017. He obtained his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Periyar Arts College, University of Madras in 2003, followed by an M.Sc. in 2005 and M.Phil. in 2007 from Annamalai University, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from SASTRA University in 2011. His career includes assistant professorships at Thiruvalluvar University College of Arts and Science (2015-2017), SRM University, Kattankulathur (2014-2015), and B.S. Abdur Rahman University (2010-2011). Additionally, he undertook post-doctoral fellowships at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) in 2014, Bharathidasan University under the UGC Dr. D.S. Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2011-2014), and served as Senior and Junior Research Fellows in DST-funded projects at SASTRA University. Kavaskar has cleared the UGC-CSIR-NET and State Eligibility Test for lectureship.
Specializing in Graph Coloring and Algebraic Combinatorics, Dr. Kavaskar's research focuses on coloring problems in graphs derived from algebraic structures such as rings, posets, and groups, including b-coloring, fall coloring, partial Grundy coloring, and zero-divisor graphs. He has contributed significantly, proving that every graph is an induced subgraph of a graph from a local ring, published in Discrete Mathematics. Key publications include "Induced subgraphs of zero-divisor graphs" (Discrete Mathematics, 2023, with G. Arunkumar, Peter J. Cameron, and T. Tamizh Chelvam), "Perfectness of G-generalized Join of Graphs" (LNCS, 2023), "Beck's coloring of finite product of commutative ring with unity" (Graphs and Combinatorics, 2022), "Padmakar-Ivan index of some families of graphs" (Discrete Mathematics, Algorithms and Applications, 2023), and earlier works such as "On two conjectures on b-coloring of graph products" (Studia Scientiarum Mathematicarum Hungarica, 2017). His achievements are recognized with the DST-Fast Track Young Scientist award, IMSc and National Taiwan University post-doctoral fellowships, NBHM Research Project (Rs. 16,96,400 on zero-divisor graphs), UGC Start-up Grant (Rs. 10,00,000 on coloring zero-divisor graphs), and SERB project (Rs. 11,28,000 on equitable coloring). He has delivered over 50 invited talks at national and international conferences, supervises Ph.D. (one completed, three ongoing) and M.Sc. students, and received the Ramasamy Padayachiyar Endowment Award for first rank in M.Phil.
