Teresa Cross contributes to research on ultrasound diagnostics, with a focus on transvaginal ultrasound accuracy for endometriosis detection in Australian settings. She is affiliated with the Allied Health and Human Performance Unit and has co-authored several works, including the peer-reviewed article 'Transvaginal Ultrasound for the Diagnosis of Endometriosis: Current Practices and Barriers in Australian Sonographers' (Australasian Journal of Ultrasound Medicine, 2025). Other publications and presentations include 'Prospective diagnostic test accuracy of uterosacral ligament and torus uterinus endometriosis using transvaginal ultrasound posterior approach' (2023), 'Are sonographers the future 'gold standard' in the diagnosis of endometriosis' (2026), 'What is the accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound for endometriosis mapping prior to surgery when performed by a sonographer within an outpatient women’s imaging centre', 'How long does a transvaginal ultrasound examination for endometriosis take in comparison to a routine transvaginal ultrasound examination', and contributions to systematic reviews on transvaginal ultrasound for deep infiltrating endometriosis. She is eligible to co-supervise Masters and PhD students and features in the Supervisor Guide for the University of South Australia Master of Medical Sonography, providing guidance on clinical supervision for sonographers. Her efforts bridge education, clinical practice, and research to enhance sonography standards.
