Vyoma Rajyaguru, MN, MBA, GAICD, serves as a Lecturer and Course Coordinator in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle campus. She holds a Master of Nursing, a Master of Business Administration, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In her current role, Vyoma coordinates key undergraduate courses including NURS1038 Human Body 1 and NURS1041 Human Body 2, and previously taught the postgraduate unit NURS6005 Contemporary Nursing Skills as a sessional academic. Before joining Notre Dame, she worked as a sessional academic at Edith Cowan University, teaching Applied Bioscience and conducting various skills workshops for postgraduate nursing students. Her passion for teaching has allowed her to mentor nursing students, consistently receiving great feedback on her approachable style.
Vyoma has been a Registered Nurse for the last 10 years at Joondalup Health Campus, with extensive experience in the coronary care unit since 2015, where she cared for patients with various heart conditions. In 2020, she was appointed Staff Development Nurse in the coronary care unit, tasked with upskilling existing team members and training new nurses. She has successfully conducted training sessions on Cardiac Nursing, Advanced ECG, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Life Support 1 (ALS1). Vyoma has been nominated for Interprofessional Education for the Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support 2 (ARC ALS2) Course. Since her appointment at Notre Dame, she has collaborated with the National Coordinator and senior members of the Nursing School to introduce positive changes that enhance the learning experience for first-year nursing students. Her friendly and approachable nature enables her to engage students effectively, fostering critical thinking and providing them every opportunity to succeed in their nursing careers.
