Dr. Yifei Cai is a Senior Lecturer in Aviation at Adelaide University, within the College of Engineering and Information Technology's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Specializing in aviation economics and finance, international relations and political shocks, time series econometrics, applied macroeconomics, and sustainability, Cai holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Western Australia (2017–2021). His academic career trajectory includes serving as Lecturer at the University of South Australia (2024–2025), Lecturer at Teesside University (2022–2023), and Assistant Professor at Macau University of Science and Technology (2021–2022).
Cai's research interests include applied economics, time-series analysis, international political economy (excluding international trade), air passenger transport, and environment and resource economics. He teaches courses in Aviation Economics and Management, International Political Economy, Research Methods in Economics, and Econometrics.
