Description
The 1st Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day Golf Operations of the facility. The position is responsible to supervise and manage total golf operations in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all customers and members.
This is a full time (generally March through early December each year), benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $28.14 - $31.67 per hour.
Shift differential is available for eligible shifts, are stackable, and can amount to a higher wage per hour.
- Weekend differential: An additional $1.00/hour
- Evening differential: An additional $1.50/hour
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing Ralph Myhre tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament event sheets, post tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow up.
- Responsible for all facets of golf operations, including the supervision and training of outside services, starters, and rangers.
- Conduct individual lessons and group clinics.
- Assist the Head Golf Professional with training all golf operations staff and assist with the administration of staff work schedules.
- Provide club repair and club fitting services.
- Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, special orders, ordering procedures, receiving procedures, displays, and sales.
- Play golf with a variety of Members of all skill levels.
- Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations.
Requirements
- Customer Service oriented and be able to provide superior customer service.
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations.
- Experience providing golf lessons to individuals of all levels.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market yourself and Ralph Myhre.
- Ability to utilize the resources of PGA player development programs such as Get Golf Ready, GGA Sports Academy, and Tee it Forward.
- PGA membership or active pursuit through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) program
