SUMMARY

The Department of Healthcare Studies (HCS) at SUNY Brockport is currently seeking applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions, primarily focused on teaching within the Addictions & Behavioral Health (ABH) program.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

Teaching (100%)

  • Teaches assigned philosophy courses in addictions and behavioral health or a related field
  • Engages in experiential and hands-on education when appropriate
  • Produces effective course materials
  • Achieves student learning outcomes
  • Holds open office hours for students
  • Infuses diversity issues into teaching, as pedagogically appropriate

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a field related to addictions & behavioral health by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university, or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in training/teaching and classroom management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses related to addiction, behavioral health, or a related topic
  • Online and classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Experience in student mentorship preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Work Schedule: Variable

Salary and Benefits:

$5,500 stipend per 3 credit course or 3 credit course equivalent. May be benefits eligible. Find out more about benefits at Careers@Brockport.
