2026-27 Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics
The Department of Economics at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in macroeconomics/financial economics for the 2026-27 academic year. Employment will begin August 1, 2026.
Qualifications: Candidates must have graduated from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants are expected to have earned a PhD in Economics or be an ABD with expected completion by August 1, 2026. Candidates with a Master’s degree possessing exceptional professional or teaching experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities: The individual hired into this position will be asked to teach a 4-4 load including introductory economics, statistics, intermediate macroeconomics, and international finance.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Nine-month appointment
- Salary Range: 79-82K, and based on experience
- The final candidate will pass a pre-employment background investigation.
