Position Highlights
The Eller College of Management is seeking a dynamic Academic Advisor I to advise graduate students in the Evening and Full-Time MBA programs, from matriculation through graduation. The Eller MBA is a top program which offers flexibility in coursework and this brings considerable need for academic advising. This role will provide highly responsive advising to support individual student's academic and career goals, addressing course selection, academic performance, and successful degree completion. This is an in-person position and requires some flexibility to support evening and weekend programming, including student events and recruitment activities. The position reports to the Associate Director of Full-Time and Evening MBA Programs in Tucson.

Duties & Responsibilities
Academic Advising
- Provide individualized academic advising to Evening and Full-Time MBA students, delivered in virtual meetings, phone conversations, and face-to-face appointments.
- Assist students in determining educational plan and guide academic decisions including course selections.
- Monitor academic progress, confirming satisfactory progress toward degree completion, ensuring fulfillment of degree requirements.
- Advise students who experience academic difficulty and guide toward appropriate campus resources for assistance.
- Develop rapport and establish trust with students on an individual basis in order to best serve their needs.
- Use University systems and maintain records and advisor notes.
- Maintain knowledge of regulations and policies that impact students' educational options.
Student Programming
- Contribute to the development of programs that promote student engagement and serve the student population.
- Assist students in successfully assimilating and thriving in the MBA learning environment as it contributes to academic success, retention and positive experience.
- Plan and execute student-centered events for community building and professional development.
Administrative Projects
- Facilitate presentations and workshops which support academic success.
- Support leadership by compiling data for program assessment and reporting.
Knowledge:
- Graduate advising practices and MBA requirements
- University policies, procedures, and degree granting requirements

- Collect, maintain, and analyze student data

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic advising, or other related experience in higher education or student services.
- Experience with student information and record keeping processes using UAccess, Gradpath, and Excel.
Rate of Pay:
$42,282 - $52,851
Compensation Type: salary at 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE)
Grade: 5
