Academic Advisor
The FASTrack Program provides academic advising to students regarding curriculum, policies, resources, and mentoring. Advises students on complex academic matters such as course selection and degree requirements while maintaining confidentiality. Works with students who pose retention risks to ensure academic, personal, and professional success. Key responsibilities include academic advisement, proactive/reactive outreach, assisting with student support initiatives, supporting retention efforts, and aiding with New Student Orientation.
Examples of Work Performed: Meet with students to discuss degree plans, class schedules, grades, and available resources; Teach a course; Attend various meetings; Communicate with students, parents, and campus partners.
Essential Functions: Respond to academic inquiries; Serve as a point of contact for at-risk students; Counsel students on interests, skills, and career options; Maintain student records; Develop and implement advising programs; Provide leadership to junior advisors.
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience.
