The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neonatology, is searching for a full-time faculty member at the rank of assistant professor. The appointee will provide clinical care at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital NICU and contracted off-site locations. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. The Section of Neonatology is committed to excellence in education, research, patient care and community service. It has 15 full-time faculty members and other academic staff who attend at the 71 bed unit in Comer Children’s Hospital and two community hospitals to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatments in nurturing, family-centered environments with state-of-the-art equipment. In collaboration with the Maternal-Fetal Service, the Section runs the University of Chicago Perinatal Network with over 10 affiliated community hospitals. The section has a fully accredited fellowship program with 10 trainees and a robust neonatal nurse practitioner program. Its faculty members are actively involved in research supported by federal and other extramural funds.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the States of Illinois and Indiana, 3) be Board certified or eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and 4) have completed a neonatology fellowship.

Assessment of applications will consider experience administering/directing a level II, III, IV neonatal intensive care nurseries.

Salary Details: Assistant Professor: $230,000 - $280,000 per year
