Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Lecturer in English
Job Details
The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applicants for two full time 9-month appointment, academic professional track (non-tenure) lecturers to start in Spring 2026, with likely renewal depending on satisfactory performance. The anticipated start date for the position is January 1, 2026; classes begin on January 12, 2026.
Lecturers hold non-tenured appointments with primary responsibility for teaching. We welcome applicants from any field of study within English, but strong teaching records in first-year writing and/or technical writing are particularly valued. Teaching assignments will mostly include courses in first-year writing, technical writing, and writing about literature, with the strong possibility for teaching upper-division courses on an as-needed basis and in relation to individual candidates' expertise. Summer teaching for additional compensation is available, subject to departmental need and funding.
Texas A&M’s English department is home to an undergraduate major and minor, a minor in health humanities, a professional writing minor, a minor in science fiction studies, and MA and PhD programs.
