Academic Program Coordinator - Adult Learning Center

Director with coordinating teacher schedules, timesheets and general operation for the smooth running of classes. Conducts adult learner intakes, recruitment and Best Plus and TABE testing. Responds to in-person and telephone inquiries about the department and classes from prospective and current students, staff, and the community. Meets with students and provides referrals to community resources and connects them with appropriate support services. Keeps track of attendance, follows up on absences, and works with students to help improve attendance issues. Assists with resolving issues raised by students and instructors. Participates in meetings and completes a minimum of 14 hours of required professional development training each year. Provides administrative support to the department, including the daily database entry in multiple systems (e.g. CampusCE, Xenegrade, ASISTS, and Excel), preparation of records and reports, and maintenance of hard copy and electronic filing systems as needed. Performs additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Designee. Essential duties require on campus presence/in-person work. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required. The following qualifications are preferred: At least one-year experience working in an adult education setting (e.g. GED & ESL programs) Ability to manage internal and external data in a timely and accurate manner Experience in student intake, recruitment, BEST Plus/TABE testing Ability to work as part of a team and to take on different roles Knowledge of GED test preparation, college enrollment processes, and postsecondary planning. Ability to work evenings and weekends when required Bilingual skills in English and Spanish Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent computer skills and knowledge of database management systems CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program. Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget Performs related duties as assigned.
