Macquarie University is recruiting an Academic Success Partner to join the dynamic Academic Success team within the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Education. With other team members, you will co-lead the design and delivery of curricular and co-curricular programs and services that empower coursework students' academic success. This includes embedding academic, digital and professional literacies in units and courses with academic staff, and delivering concurrent support programs to students, especially those most at risk. You will have experience working directly with academic subject matter experts in various disciplines, though some experience with STEM disciplines is preferred.

You are committed to research-informed design and best practice in inclusive program delivery. Your expertise and experience allow you to lead academic, digital, and professional literacies programs to maximise student success. High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think strategically and creatively, allow you to respond proactively to faculty-specific needs and priorities. Equally, your positive and flexible approach to unexpected or changing circumstances enables you to support both colleagues and stakeholders thoughtfully and effectively. If you are energised by the opportunity to transform coursework students’ learning experience, this is a role in which you will thrive.

About Us

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and is the member of the University Executive with overall responsibility for the planning, quality and delivery of education provided to Macquarie's undergraduate and graduate students.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) is responsible for the University’s educational endeavour across all aspects of the educational lifecycle, including pathways and access, curriculum and educational capability development, educational outcomes and graduate success. The PVCE provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and programs to support the University’s education mission.

To Apply

To be considered for this position, please apply online and attach your resume and a separate cover letter that outlines how you meet to the selection criteria below:

  • Postgraduate qualification in education or an academic literacies-related field.
  • Sustained relevant experience working with faculty academics to embed professional, academic and/or digital literacies in curricula for academic success, preferably with STEM experience.
  • Demonstrated capability to implement, manage, and prioritise the end-to-end delivery of curricular and co-curricular programs in partnership with faculty academics and other relevant University stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the higher education sector, particularly legislative and regulatory requirements relating to academic success and support for students.
  • Knowledge of the literature and best practice regarding the innovation and optimisation of academic success and support programs.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including the proficiency to evaluate program effectiveness and undertake continuous quality improvement activities to uplift student outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to advise and influence key faculty stakeholders and achieve buy-in for academic success programs.
  • Demonstrated capability to work productively with stakeholders in an exemplary professional, collaborative, and innovative team environment.

*Work hours may vary from time to time to accommodate business needs.*
