"Access Services Assistant"

Under general supervision of the Manager of Access Services, the Access Services Assistant provides priority core operational services to support the teaching, research, and clinical activities of UCSF faculty, students, and staff. Within the Access Services unit, this position ensures access to the library's spaces, services, and resources by opening and closing of the unit and the library, staffing the services desk at the Parnassus Heights Kalmanovitz Library, performing functional circulation and reserves services, interlibrary loan services, pulling, processing, preparing and shipping out materials, stack maintenance, and contributing to service data collection through pre-established reporting mechanisms. Collaborating with peers and colleagues within the unit and the Library, the Access Services Assistant stays abreast of library policies, services, events, and special projects to effectively communicate with a diverse community of patrons on a daily basis. This position also contributes to priority duties including reporting facilities issues, emergencies or library security problems to appropriate leadership and campus units including Facilities Services and UC Security and Police Department.

Please Note: This is a limited appointment, duration would be 5 months from date of hire.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $26.98 - $35.06 (Hourly Rate).
