Accounting Instructor
Job Description
SUNY Schenectady invites applications for a full-time Accounting Instructor to join a collaborative, student-centered academic community. The Accounting instructor is a full-time tenure track faculty position. Position responsibilities include teaching a full-time course load of business and accounting courses, providing advisement to accounting and business students, and working with four-year colleges to design and develop transfer and articulation agreements. Other responsibilities include assessment, course development, program review, and collaborating with faculty across divisions and as part of the college community. A full-time teaching load generally consists of 15-16 credit hours per semester. Faculty are expected to hold office hours, support recruitment and enrollment efforts, and engage in college committee work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach a full-time course load of Business and Accounting courses to include, but not limited to, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Income Tax Accounting, Internal Auditing, or other Accounting Courses;
- Hold office hours for students;
- Design and administer assessment instruments;
- Participate in course development and program implementation in collaboration with other faculty in the division;
- Participate in divisional activities, including student retention and program review;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- A master's degree in accounting; or a master's degree in business with 18 upper-level credit hours in the accounting discipline; or a master's degree in business with three or more years of experience working in the accounting field.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of accounting experience.
- Online teaching experience
