Job Summary:
This part-time position reports directly to Dr. Eva Nozik in the Section of Pediatric Critical Care and is responsible conducting research funded by AHA grant, the Role of CD39 in SARS-CoV-2–Induced Endothelial Dysfunction.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, conduct, analyze and oversee research (35%)
- Participate and present in lab meetings, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research Laboratory (CVP) conferences, NJH RIP and national meetings
- Maintain meticulous laboratory notebooks/database
- Keep abreast of and share with the laboratory pertinent scientific literature
- Conduct individual research: Role of CD39 in SARS-CoV-2–Induced Endothelial Dysfunction.
- Collaborative research
- Manuscripts and Grants (10%)
- Write scientific publications
- Write grant applications for extramural funding
- Contribute to collaborative grants and manuscripts
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- PhD in Pharmacology
- Twenty-four years' post-graduate research experience
- Research expertise in vascular disease and SARS-CoV-2
- Proven track record of receiving extramural funding awards for research
Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in vascular biology and molecular biology methods
- Experience teaching undergraduate students
- Track record of publications and presentations in vascular biology
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, record-keeping and interpersonal skills
- Skills in molecular, cell, tissue and animal methodologies
- Ability to acquire new skills to advance work
