Job Summary:

The Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado is recruiting an Adult (or Adult/Gero) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care to patients on a non-teaching cardiology service. The patients included will typically be post-procedural or short, planned admissions. This includes patients undergoing ablations, pacemaker and AICD implantations, TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman device implantation, and Tikosyn admits. There will also be a component of general cardiology consults included. This position will involve primarily inpatient with some possibilities for ambulatory management of these patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general cardiology with some exposure to cardiac procedures.
This position is directly supervised by the Lead APP for Cardiology Platinum, Section Head for Advanced Practice and Division Chief
Key Responsibilities:
- Inpatient based management (assisting physicians and independent management) of patients on the non-teaching Cardiology service and General Cardiology consult service.
- Participating in discharge planning and transitions of care from the inpatient to the outpatient setting.
- Admissions and daily rounding on patients admitted to the non-teaching cardiology service.
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- State of Colorado Certified Physician's Assistant or Inclusion on the State of Colorado Advanced Practice Registry as an Advance Practice Nurse
- National Board Certification
- CPR/ACLS Certified
- Prescriptive authority
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in the clinical management of complex cardiology patients.
- Inpatient cardiology and/or critical care experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with multiple medical disciplines.
- Excellent bedside manner and physical exam skills.
- General Internal Medicine knowledge base.
