Adjunct - AY26 Plant Science Instructor
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is accepting applications for Adjunct Plant Science/Agriculture Instructor positions for the 2026 Academic School Year. This is a part-time position.
Position: The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or
- Associate's degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
- A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Duties: The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach any of the Plant Science/Agriculture courses offered, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Remote Learning: Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas or other methods of remote learning. Applicants with demonstrated certification in Blackboard, Canvas, or other online modalities may be given preference.
Compensation: The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
