Description
The New England School of Acupuncture seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and evaluation for the acupuncture program. The selected candidate will bring subject matter expertise to the responsibilities of in-person teaching of Self-Care I in the fall 2026 semester on the Boston campus. This course offers foundational Qi Gong or Tai Chi training, emphasizing breathwork and movement. Students will deepen their understanding of TCM concepts such as yin-yang, five-element theory, and meridians, while cultivating vitality, mental clarity, and emotional balance. This practice enhances personal and professional growth, enabling students to guide others in self-care and holistic wellness.
The course will meet Saturday 9:00am-10:20am. The ideal candidate will teach Self-Care I – III in the fall, spring and summer semesters, though that is not required.
- Deliver in-person instruction and use the online Learning Management System Blackboard®
- Provide an engaging active learning environment for students
- Provide students with periodic assessments of their progress toward meeting course learning outcomes, which demonstrate clinical applications of concepts covered
- Apply grading policies fairly and consistently
- Develop and adhere to the course syllabus per the NESA/MCPHS format, which includes course description, learning outcomes, attendance policy in line with that of MCPHS, and assessment criteria, including assignment deliverables and timelines
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean
Requirements
Required:
- Master's degree required, doctoral degree preferred
- Minimum of five years teaching Qi Gong or Tai Chi
- Commitment to graduate education and student success
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with students and administration/staff
Compensation
The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
Hiring Range: $1966.67
