Position Purpose:
Aurora University invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach in its new Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) program. We seek dynamic and experienced professionals with deep expertise in both academic theory and real-world application of advanced computing technologies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Teach assigned graduate-level MSCS courses in hybrid (classroom and online) formats, including preparing lectures, leading discussions, grading assignments, and providing timely feedback.
- Facilitate student learning and ensure high levels of student engagement and achievement.
- Incorporate real-world case studies, emerging technologies, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
- Maintain regular availability for student support and office hours.
- Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to maintain course integrity and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; doctorate preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise and practical experience in relevant course content areas.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with a diverse student population.
- Familiarity with hybrid and online instructional tools, including learning management systems (e.g., Brightspace).
Skills:
- Industry certifications in cybersecurity, cloud, machine learning, or software engineering.
- Experience mentoring / supervising curricular practical training (CPT).
- Prior teaching experience in higher education, particularly at the graduate level.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
The anticipated pay rate for this position is $1,000 per credit hour. This compensation is subject to change at the sole discretion of the university, based on institutional needs.
