QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements :
Bachelor's degree with a major in interior design, architecture, or fine arts.
Experience Requirements :
The equivalent of one year’s full-time, non-teaching work experience in interior design.
Preferred Experience:
Exceptional applicants will meet one or more of the following preferred qualifications:
- Equivalent of two years of work experience in interior design.
- Licensed to practice architecture in the State of Illinois.
- Two years of teaching interior design or architecture at the postsecondary level.
- Equivalent of one year of work experience using industry-relevant CAD programs (e.g., Autodesk, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience in 2D and 3D digital drafting.
- Certified Interior Designer.
- Certified Kitchen Designer with at least three years’ experience in kitchen design and 100 hours in NKBA accredited education.

The Career and Technical Programs provide programs of study that involve a multiyear sequence of courses that integrate core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule Information:
Adjunct faculty may be assigned a maximum workload of 24 contact hours or equivalent per academic year (i.e., fall and spring semesters). Classes within the program are offered in daytime, evening, and/or online modalities based on student demand.
Course(s) to be taught :
Applicant pool will be considered to teach one or more of the following courses based on qualifications:
- Architectural CAD I – ARC 116
- Architectural CAD II – ARC 117
- Materials and Sources – IND 106
- Codes for Interior Designers – IND 114
- Architectural Lighting – IND 206
- CAD Studio – IND 220
- Kitchen and Bath CAD Studio – IND 232
Job Description :
- Deliver course content that aligns with the college’s curriculum standards and student learning outcomes.
- Develop course syllabi, assignments, and assessments that reflect current industry practices and ensure course outcomes are met.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that accommodates diverse learning styles and promotes student success.
- Use technology and other resources to enhance course delivery and student engagement, including online, hybrid, or face-to-face modalities.
- Maintain accurate records of student’s progress and grades.
- Must adhere to mid-term verification and final grade posting deadlines.
- Adhere to institutional policies and procedures, including those related to academic integrity and accessibility.
