The School of Medical Imaging & Therapeutics (SMIT) seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program. The selected candidate will have responsibilities of conducting the laboratory sessions in Colorado with subject matter from the didactic faculty members, as well as visiting the clinical sites routinely throughout Colorado. Providing synchronous online course materials may also occur throughout the semester.
- Deliver high quality and engaging didactic, and/or laboratory instruction via online, or in a ‘blended' format in the Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Collaborate with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program Director to manage student clinical instruction at assigned clinical sites throughout Colorado.
- Travel to student assigned clinical sites to assess and document student development and progress in Nuclear Medicine scanning, radiation safety, and patient management skills.
- Meet with assigned clinical supervisors at each site and the Nuclear Medicine Program Director to discuss student progress
- Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
- Plan and attend labs for the Nuclear Medicine program with the assistance of the Program Director and other didactic faculty members.
- Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
- Supports incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.
- Use the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students when needed
- Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms.
- Contribute to periodic reviews and revisions of departmental course offerings.
- Maintain advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise.
- Contribute in the program's accreditation process.
- Participate in advisory meetings of the program, along with supporting and contributing to the enhancement of the program such as curriculum enhancements.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree, Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Nuclear Medicine
- Minimum of 1 years of teaching experience at the college/university level preferred
- Documented experience teaching online (synchronous and asynchronous) in an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program preferred
- Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
