"Adjunct Faculty POOL- Computer Science at Walla Walla (2025-2026 Academic Year)"

Walla Walla Community College seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach Computer Science courses during the 2025-2026 academic year. This part-time position involves teaching courses such as CS 233 (Asp.Net Programming) at various campuses or online.

General Responsibilities: Faculty members facilitate student learning through preparation and delivery of course materials, providing feedback on assignments, assigning grades, and connecting students to campus resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place.
• Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment.
• Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter.
• Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions.
• Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback.
• Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college grading policy.
• Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS.
• Post and be available during office hours.
• Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum.
• Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology.
• Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment.

Competencies: Instructional competencies include student success strategies, outcomes-based learning, assessment, equity, diversity, and inclusion, digital and information literacy, and commitment to continuing education.

Required Qualifications: At least 5 years of working experience in computing or information technology, or an AAS in software design with experience in teaching asp.net, JavaScript, C++, PHP, MySQL, and demonstrated ability to teach computing concepts.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at a community college, using instructional technology, teaching in various modalities, working with diverse backgrounds, and commitment to professional growth.

Conditions/Terms of Employment: This is a part-time assignment contingent on enrollment, located at the Walla Walla Campus. Employees must provide documentation of lawful employment and participate in E-Verify.
