Adjunct Faculty POOL- Enology & Viticulture (2025-2026 Academic Year)

Walla Walla Community College seeks adjunct faculty to teach Enology & Viticulture courses for the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions are part-time and may be located at various campuses including Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, or online.

General Responsibilities: Facilitate student learning through preparation and delivery of course materials, provide timely feedback on assignments and exams, assign grades, and connect students to campus resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned classes at scheduled times and places.
  • Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment.
  • Provide a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter.
  • Offer clear explanations, assignments, and directions.
  • Conduct evaluations of student performance and provide feedback.
  • Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college policy.
  • Maintain student records in the College's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Post and maintain office hours for student access.
  • Update course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum.
  • Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology.
  • Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment.

Competencies: Develop essential instructional competencies including student success strategies, outcomes-based learning, assessment, equity, diversity, and inclusion, digital and information literacy, and commitment to continuing education.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Viticulture or closely related field; demonstrated proficiency teaching at the college level (minimum two years, including experience as a teaching assistant or adjunct instructor). For remote work, must reside in WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, PA, or TX.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Viticulture; experience teaching at a community college; experience using instructional technology such as LMS, digital whiteboards, and Zoom; experience teaching in various modalities (in-person, hybrid, blended, online); experience working with diverse cultural, ethnic, gender, age, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.

Conditions/Terms of Employment: This is a part-time assignment contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus. Must provide documentation of lawful employment and transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify and is a tobacco-free institution.

Compensation: Based on the adjunct salary schedule as per the WWCC Board of Trustees and WWCC Association for Higher Education contract. Refer to the WWCC Human Resources Page for details.
