Adjunct Instructor, Graduate School of Education
Position Summary
We invite enthusiastic, forward thinkers to instruct, engage, and inspire students in the Graduate School of Education. Candidates should have the ability to teach a range of online and seated undergraduate and, to a lesser extent, graduate courses in the academic disciplines associated with our four departments:
- Counseling, School and Educational Psychology
- Educational Leadership and Policy
- Learning and Instruction
- Information Science
Academic Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Deliver seated and/or online lessons to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Evaluate and grade student class work, assignments, papers, and/or quizzes/exams, providing effective feedback to guide student learning and success.
- Engage in the classroom, reply to emails/voicemails within 24 hours, and hold on campus/online office hours.
- Maintain knowledge in ones own discipline-related area by participating in professional development.

Minimum Qualifications
For teaching undergraduate courses:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in relevant discipline/field
For teaching graduate and doctoral courses:
- Masters degree or equivalent in relevant discipline/field
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess a Masters/PhD in education, counseling, or library science-related field, and one year experience with online and hybrid teaching and related methodologies.
- Be knowledgeable in multiple content areas and theoretical frameworks within stated discipline, as well as issues related to diversity and multiculturalism.
- Possess working knowledge of Blackboard (UBLearns) , the learning management system at UB.
- Availability to work evening hours (for seated courses).
- Be recognized as exemplary instructor who has had evidence of reflective practice and experience working with diverse students.
