Adjunct Instructor - Home Inspection (non-credit)
The Adjunct Instructor for Home Inspection provides high-quality instruction to students preparing for careers in residential property inspection. This role involves teaching foundational and advanced concepts aligned with state standards, industry best practices, and professional ethics. The instructor will create an engaging learning environment that supports student success through hands-on activities, real-world examples, and practical skill development.
- Deliver course instruction in accordance with learning objectives and requirements for home inspector training.
- Teach topics such as building systems, structural components, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, exterior/interior inspections, safety protocols, report writing/electronic reports, and relevant state laws.
- Provide demonstrations, field-based learning opportunities, and scenario-based exercises to reinforce practical skills.
- Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, exams, and inspection-style reports.
- Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and program development activities as needed.
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with significant industry experience or a skilled trades background with substantial, relevant hands-on experience in residential construction, inspection, or building systems.
