Adjunct Instructor, Industrial Trades (part-time)
Kellogg Community College is seeking qualified applicants who have a passion to teach skilled trades students. The primary site for instruction is in Battle Creek at the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center (RMTC).

Although not immediate, there may be additional opportunities in the future for the following trades: Welding, Machining, Industrial Technology, Tool and Die, CNC Programming, Electrical, Electronics, or Robotics.
Kellogg Community College is located in Battle Creek, Michigan, a community of approximately 54,000 people. Physical Demands: The job responsibilities are performed in an instructional lab in the Battle Creek area. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and competency in basic industrial trades techniques and processes in accordance to the specific trade standards. Must be able to perform hands-on skill demonstrations.
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent, work-related skilled trades experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at an educational institution; specifically, demonstrated hands-on industrial trades instruction skills.
- Journeyman or USDOL apprenticeship certificate in related trade.
Job Duties: Essential Function: Instruction. The instructor will be responsible for one-on-one instruction in a hands-on lab/shop setting. Teaching includes explaining concepts to students, hands-on teaching demonstrations of various skilled trades processes, assisting students with questions, and grading tests. The instructor will also be responsible for some administrative duties such as maintaining equipment, advising students, preparing materials, and orienting new students to Industrial Trades.
