Adjunct Instructor – STEM
Normandale Community College is seeking Adjunct Instructors to join our STEM Departments. Normandale’s STEM departments that are looking for Adjunct Instructors are: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Engineering, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree with a major in the STEM field you are applying for or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in STEM field you are applying for.
Preferred Qualifications: Coursework beyond the Master’s degree; Post-secondary teaching experience; Experience serving diverse and underserved populations; An understanding of the community college mission and its unique population; Experience in online learning and/or course delivery using web-based course management systems such as D2L; Experience in using innovative teaching and learning approaches; Experience providing specific strategies to create a sense of belonging within the classroom; Experience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible students; Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion; Demonstrated commitment to collegial activities - service on committees, developing assessment, and guiding students.
To be qualified for this position, you must meet all of the minimum qualifications. All applicants must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of employment. Normandale does not sponsor visas.
Classification: Temporary, part-time faculty; Working Title: Adjunct Instructor; Bargaining Unit / Union: 210: Minnesota State College Faculty; Employment Condition: Unclassified - Limited Academic (Fixed Term); Compensation: For under 5 credits is $1,650 per semester credit. Those teaching more than five credits are temporary part-time employees and can move to the faculty salary schedule. This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments’ access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).
