Adjunct Faculty POOL- Energy Systems Technology at Walla Walla (2025-2026 Academic Year)
Walla Walla Community College seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach Energy Systems Technology courses during the 2025-2026 academic year. This part-time position involves teaching courses such as EST 250 (Programmable Logic Controllers) at various campuses or online.
General Responsibilities: Facilitate student learning through preparation and delivery of course materials, provide timely feedback on assignments and exams, assign grades, and connect students to campus resources.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place.
- Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment.
- Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter.
- Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions.
- Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback.
- Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college grading policy.
- Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS.
- Post and be available during office hours.
- Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum.
- Review and recommend program textbooks, materials, and technology.
- Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment.
Instructional Competencies: Develop essential skills in student success strategies, outcomes-based learning, assessment, equity, diversity, and inclusion, digital and information literacy, and commitment to continuing education.
Required Qualifications: Associate of Applied Science degree in Electrical Technology or Energy Systems Technology; or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; or documented completion of an Apprenticeship program and/or current electrical journey-level license; or extensive experience as a technician for a power generation utility; or experience teaching/training mechanical-electrical concepts; or military experience in the role of engineer; or minimum of three years of related work experience in an industrial maintenance mechanic/electrical technician role; or recent WWCC Energy Systems Technology program graduate. Equivalent combinations may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at a community college; experience using instructional technology such as Learning Management Systems; experience teaching in various modalities; experience working with diverse backgrounds.
Conditions/Terms of Employment: This is a part-time assignment contingent on enrollment, located at the Walla Walla Campus. Must provide documentation of lawful employment and transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify and is a tobacco-free institution.
