Adjunct Instructors - School of Health Professions

Job Description

D’Youville University’s School of Health Professions is seeking qualified candidates to join a pool of adjunct instructors for potential teaching opportunities in the following health profession programs: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Speech-Language Pathology, Nutrition & Dietetics, Physician Assistant, and Medical Science for Physician Assistants. Adjuncts will be responsible for implementing educational programs through didactic teaching, lab instruction, and/or clinical supervision. Opportunities are available in various instructional settings, including lectures, labs, online, and hybrid formats.

• Capable of providing effective classroom and clinical instruction to a diverse student population.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
• Physically able to perform teaching duties in classroom and laboratory settings.
• Proficient in delivering instruction in classroom, hybrid, or distance learning formats.
• Maintain licensure, professional competence, and certification (if applicable) in specialty areas.
• Hold on-campus office hours for students.
• Possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish positive interpersonal and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and the broader university community.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current in health profession practice area.

Requirements:

Education:

• Doctorate in health profession or closely related field required
• New York State license or professional certification as required by practice area.

Experience:

• Academic teaching experience is preferred.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in health profession field is preferred
