Adjunct, Korean

Job Summary

Face-to-face position to teach first- and second-year Korean courses. Our Korean program started in 2023 and is fast growing. We are looking for an adjunct to join our Korean team and teach one or two sections a semester. The new instructor will be supported by our Language Coordinator, but because this is a new program, we are particularly interested in someone who has taught it before as this position will require some self-reliance and curriculum design. Our language courses are flipped, communicative and active-learning-based. Cultural competence is necessary (e.g., how to navigate racial and sexual diversity in the target culture, and gender-neutral language). We are looking for candidates who can teach one or two sections physically in the classroom. Specific day and time are negotiable. All our first-year Korean courses are in the hybrid format, so instructors who teach a first-year course are required to serve for one hour a week at the Center for Languages as part of their teaching load.
