Position Summary

The Foundations and Social Advocacy department is establishing a pool of applicants to fill potential part-time temporary teaching positions.

Major Responsibilities

ILLUSTRATIVE NEEDS INCLUDE: Supervision for Student Teaching SPE 270: Introduction to Special Education SPE 275: Introduction to Special Education (Secondary Education) FSA 103: Gender, Race, and Class Issues in Education FSA 212: Introduction to Inclusive Education FSA 340: Students with Complex Disabilities in Schools and Families FSA 400: Foundations of Education FSA 411: Planning for Instructional Strategies in Special Education FSA 437: Assessment of Learners with Diverse Needs FSA 479: Social Curriculum and Behavioral Supports FSA 510: Introduction to Special Education (Graduate level) FSA 515: Introduction to Disability Studies FSA 530: Supporting the Communication of Students with Complex Needs FSA 535: Alternative/Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology for Students with Severe or Multiple Disabilities FSA 600: Inclusive Education Pedagogy FSA 610: Inclusive Education Assessments FSA 615: Assessment for Adolescents with Disabilities FSA 620: Discipline and Social Skill Development FSA 625: Inclusive Curricular Pedagogy for Adolescents with Disabilities FSA 630: Students with Disabilities in Context FSA 683: Administration of Special Education EDL 613: Principles of Financial Leadership EDL 615: Educational Leadership and the Law EDL 616: Principles of Curriculum Leadership EDL 656: School Finance EDL 657: Principles of Organizational Leadership EDL 678: Strategic Supervision and Leadership EDL 680: Principles of School Building Leadership EDL 683: Principles of Special Programs Leadership EDL 685: Facilities Management EDL 690: Principles of School District Leadership EDL 696/698: Educational Leadership Internship EDL 699: Culminating Seminar

Functional and Supervisory Relationships

Reports to academic department chair.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in foundations of education, inclusive education, educational leadership or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

New York State certification in special education or educational leadership. Doctorate in special education, foundations of education, educational leadership or related field. At least three years of teaching in P-12 schools. Experience teaching online college courses.
