Job Description
CONTRACT TYPE: Semester based.
BASIC FUNCTION: The Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking adjunct faculty for teaching assignments during the 2024-2025 academic year. Courses may include our MTH170 Concepts in Mathematics, MTH172 Quantitative Methods for Business, and STA173 Statistical Methods. Courses will be held in-person on our campus in Newport, RI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and teach in-person, on-campus classes
- Prepare, proctor and grade examinations
- Grade and return student assignments, examinations, reports, etc. in a timely manner
- Provide a course syllabus at the start of the semester to the department chair
- Basic use of the Canvas learning management system
- Hold weekly office hours
- Use Salve email to send and receive official email correspondence
Requirements
- A minimum of a master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline, along with teaching experience
- Ability to teach in-person classes at the scheduled class times
