Job Description:
CONTRACT TYPE: Semester based.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Political Science and International Relations requires an adjunct instructor for a section of POL247, a 3-credit political science course, entitled "State Government Internship" for the Spring 2026 term. The textbook has been selected and will be provided to the instructor. The class meets at Salve Regina University for in-person instruction once a week, on Mondays, from 6 pm to 7:15 pm. In addition, the instructor must co-ordinate with the Rhode Island state government internship office to ensure the smooth application of students for their internships. Contact information will be provided to the instructor. The instructor must also be available via email and possibly via phone, for student questions and concerns, and for Internship Office questions and concerns.
Requirements:
- An MA or PhD in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a capacity to teach, at the college level, various issues concerning the Rhode Island state government and the state government's relationship to the federal government and local government.
