Job Summary
Under supervision, the adjunct instructor will teach various Psychology (PSY) classes offered by SLCC.
This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.
This position is paid at $1,056 per instructional unit.

- 1) In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.
2) Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within in 30 days of hire.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- 1. Effectively prepare and teach classes following department and SLCC curricular requirements.
2. Provide effective, meaningful and timely feedback to students on their coursework.
3. Maintain records of student performance and attendance.
4. Provide ADA accommodations as directly by SLCC Accessibility and Disability Services.
5. Responds to student questions and concerns in a timely manner.
6. Completes required training within the timeframe given by SLCC.
7. Participates in department or school training as appropriate and when possible.
8. Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
9. Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college polices.
10. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
11. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Minimum qualifications
Master's degree in Psychology (or closely related field) from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the college or high school level.
Ph.D. in Psychology.
