Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the part-time role of Quest & Community Education Instructor for the Department of Continuing Education's Quest program on the Walla Walla Campus. This program offers non-credit learning experiences to community members age 50+.

General Responsibilities:
The Quest & Community Education Instructor delivers high-quality, engaging instruction in their area of expertise to adult learners through the College's non-credit, lifelong learning Quest (50+ demographic) and Community Education programs (all ages). Instruction is offered across multiple modalities, including in-person, hybrid, and online formats. Instructors support Walla Walla Community College's mission by fostering lifelong learning, curiosity, and practical skill development. Courses are not for academic credit and are taught based on approved proposals, enrollment minimums, and established program standards. Instructors collaborate with Continuing and Community Education staff to ensure effective course delivery, a safe and inclusive learning environment, and positive learner outcomes.

Teaching and Related Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver non-credit, lifelong learning instruction; submit course proposals on a rolling basis in accordance with Continuing and Community Education timelines.
- Teach engaging, relevant lessons tailored to adult learners and community participants.
- Adapt instruction for in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
- Assess and evaluate learner progress and outcomes.
- Create inclusive, supportive learning environments that encourage participation and curiosity.
- Track and report attendance accurately.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding enrollment minimums, course adjustments, and instructional needs.
- Participate in orientation, instructional workshops, and program-specific training.
- Collaborate with Continuing and Community Education staff to ensure smooth course delivery.
- Support classroom logistics, setup, and cleanup as needed.
- Ensure compliance with College safety, accessibility, and program policies.

Required Qualifications
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college. Must reside in either WA, OR, ID, CA, IL, NE, NV, PA, or TX.
- Degree, professional background, or demonstrated expertise in the instructional subject area.
- Demonstrated subject-matter expertise.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and adapt instruction across multiple teaching modalities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience, particularly with adult learners.
- Experience teaching in in-person, hybrid, and/or online environments.
- Experience developing course proposals or curriculum.
Conditions/Terms of Employment
This is a part-time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus. Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful employment to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment and provide transcripts if applicable. WWCC participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Candidates may be subject to a criminal history background check as a condition of employment. Information from the background check may not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. The college is a tobacco free institution. Walla Walla Community College requires all employees to participate in direct deposit for payment of salary.
Compensation
Compensation for Continuing Education instruction is determined on a sliding scale based on class enrollment numbers ($41.79 to $93.53 per hour). Classes are subject to cancellation based on low enrollment.
