Administrative Assistant II - School of Health Sciences
Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean of School of Health Sciences, this position's central focus is supporting the work of department chairs as assigned by the dean. The Administrative Assistant II works in an exciting, fast-paced, and challenging environment that often involves multitasking and managing a variety of projects and requests.
The Administrative Assistant II frequently handles sensitive and/or highly confidential material and is a vital member of the team responding to internal and external demands.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and submits schedule of courses each semester
- Schedules departmental meetings
- Takes minutes in departmental meetings
- Makes room reservations and provides support for SHS events
- Coordinates facility use and assists with space management
- Processes course related changes for students (e.g., course overrides, waitlist, instructor approval for classes, learning community course changes)
- Prepares updates and reports highlighting faculty accomplishments and publications
- Support the work of department chairs as assigned by the dean
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- One or more years of experience in an administrative support capacity
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 Year / Associate Degree
- One or more years of experience supporting multiple people or departments
- Higher education experience
Proposed Salary
$34,800 - $41,700; Salary offer will be dependent on candidate’s experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
