Admission Counselor
Position Purpose
This position is tasked with recruiting incoming undergraduate students as part of the overall admissions team. The Admission Counselor is responsible for achieving enrollment goals within an assigned territory and for contributing to the overall success of the department by leading and participating in various recruitment activities. He/she provides personalized communication to prospective students, parents, school counselors and others.
Essential Duties Summary
- Achieve enrollment goals within an assigned territory by communicating with prospective students and parents on a regular basis via telephone, email, social media, personal meetings, and written correspondence;
- Use the College's CRM tools to communicate with students and log daily interactions;
- Deliver small and large group presentations to persuade students to enroll at New England College;
- Travel to high schools and recruitment fairs to meet with prospective students, parents, and school counselors;
- Communicate with secondary school counselors, parents, teachers, alumni, coaches, and other key influencers of prospective students;
- Participate in on-campus and off-campus programs hosted by the College to recruit students;
- Work with NEC faculty and staff to participate in providing information to prospective students;
- Write correspondence for print, email, social media, and other platforms as part of a total promotional plan for admissions;
- Collect and analyze data as part of ongoing assessment of recruitment, and provide enrollment forecasts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience in undergraduate admission or related positions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High-energy disposition, goal-oriented work style, strong customer service orientation
- Ability to travel extensively
- Valid driver's license
