Do you have a can-do attitude and looking for a role that you can further develop? We are offering an Advisor, Employability and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) position. In this role you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of tailored employability and career development initiatives through collaboration with academic and professional staff to integrate employability and career development learning into curriculum and extra-curricular activities. You will also contribute to continuous improvement of employability programs, systems, and resources through effective stakeholder engagement and data-informed practices.

"We value our incredible team and enjoy helping the new generation with their future focus".

Key responsibilities will include:

Employability Development

  • Collaborate with the Supervisor, Employability and WIL, and the EAIT Learning Enhancement Team to broaden the reach of employability and career-development learning workshops, particularly within the curriculum.
  • Design, develop, and deliver tailored workshops and supporting resources (including online modules) that align with diverse learning outcomes, student needs and Faculty strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to relevant project work and continuous improvement initiatives.

Internal Liaison and Advice

  • In collaboration with the Supervisor, Employability and WIL, liaise and consult directly with EAIT academic staff and schools to build strong relationships, and identify specific employability and career development needs of various student cohorts at various stages of their programs.
  • Liaise with the Faculty’s Learning Enhancement Team to design and develop best practice learning materials.

Student Support and Advice

  • Contribute to the organisation, logistics and delivery of student employability-related activities including but not limited to seminars, lectures, workshops and events.
  • Provide personalised one-on-one student consultations and support, including guidance on Engineering Professional Practice and general enquiries.

Information Management, Systems and Processes

  • Deliver and continuously improve employability initiatives by evaluating workshop/presentation effectiveness, student engagement and contributing to the enhancement of systems and processes within the team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of workshop delivery, student consultations, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring timely and relevant reporting to Faculty leadership, academic staff and senior administrative stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in team collaboration and development through meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities, while supporting the Supervisor, Employability and WIL, in operational and strategic tasks.

Our Team

The Student Employability Team is the Faculty’s gateway for industry engagement with students. The team identifies and facilitates placement opportunities for all EAIT students and enhances the student experience and employability outcomes through the provision of a student employability program. This program fits within the broader University of Queensland's Student Employability Strategy and Framework.
